    SkyShark! No.

There are two things I love in a video game, any one makes it a great game, both make it amazing! Trains and sharks.

That being said, I have to override that rule because the greatest game I ever played with a shark in it was at Knoebel’s Grove arcade back in the 70’s it was an electro-mechanical called Killer Shark made by SEGA. It used a projected zoetrope-like animation wheel much like their sub hunting and manta ray games that came out around the same time.

You can see some footage of a dude playing it in the movie Jaws.

An incredibly simple game but amazing atmosphere!

You are not alone, I don’t even own it and I’m bored. I actually heard from someone I’ve been working with on a game project that they were playing & then turned off their XBox for a few months.

Do you means systems that are gems or games for certain systems like the Game Cube you just picked up?

Game Cube, try to find Odama, it must be complete with microphone!

Looking around the old Classic Gaming Kitchen, there are a lot of gems but, most of them I’m sure you already have like a Dreamcast and Saturn or most you might not have in mind like the RCA Studio II or the Fairchild Channel F.

Unfortunately, the consoles I consider real gems and I still play are also ones that the toy-boy-crotch-wad-geeks charge way too much for. As you might know, the PC Engine is my favorite system, you might be able to get a core cheap but then you’re stuck with only HuCard titles, scoring a Duo is the ticket with that system.

You can also find 3DOs out there but, the quality titles are limited and it’s difficult to find one with a working drive so, look for the crappier made flip tops.

Saturn is another of my favorite consoles but for me, you really need a Japanese and an American one to get the full library or quality titles (or a chipped and switched one).

If you’re looking for places to pick them up, Craigslist is often a good place to get an entire console and library in one shot if the price is right. Thrift stores also work but, for some reason they’ll often mark older systems far higher than they are worth. eBay tends to be the one constant if you play it right. Bid low, if you get outbid, don’t get in a bidding war, the title or console will comeback again, it’s just a matter of time.

Even the crappiest system I’ve scored (like the Playdia) was worth the play. I’ve resold that long ago along worth systems I actually cared about but, it’s nice to experience any original console vs only having them on emulation.

In reply to - Alex “Aewch” Williams posted an update: So, I’ve been toying with the idea of starting a collection of the older systems. And by toying with, I mean have already started.(You don’t buy a Gamecube to use as your main console in today’s day and age.) I was wondering if the peoples had any tip or tricks [...] · View

So far there are 4 tables available, TOTAR (Tales of the Arabian Nights), Ripley’s Believe It or Not, Black Hole and Theatre of Magic. All of these are classic table and all from different manufacturers.

I believe there are 2 more tables promised soon, at least that’s what I thought I read when I immediately plugged in my 10 bucks for all tables offered (like a spastic goof). The tables are available individually for 2 bucks a piece or free to try until you get the high score.

This is definitely a package that I hope gets some major updates. The tables are not iPad quality (although the game is an asterisk title), the texture maps are low resolution.

All the elements that need to be fixed; Improved resolution, skill shots are not possible as the camera shifts to the front of the table to pull back the plunger instead of switching overhead to allow using the plunger meter markings, the dot matrix display is called a HUD and does not emulate dot matrix, the cameras force portrait mode of the IPad but the table is always angled back – if portrait mode is forced then I’d like a more top down view of the playfield.

Far Sight has some great licenses here and the physics are nice but they really need to step up the quality. To me the audience is going to be real pinball enthusiasts in which case the DMD, camera angles and Plunger elements need to be fixed or the folks who enjoy Zen Pinball in which case the graphics will need to be higher quality.

The iOS – Android developers are known to be more responsive to the public with updates and I hope this title follows suit. This is a great way to experience these tables for the first time or play them on the go and I really want it to live up to what I had expected.

No way! It looks like it hasn’t been maintained in 12 years! I had to set my monitor to 640 x 480 for it to look right.

People on eBay looking to sell their systems are willing to pay for cardboard to get a higher price for the system they’re trying to auction off. Give it a try. I’d say anything from Dreamcast back.

Wait until the UK Store gets the newest Zen Pinball with the Marvel tables. Unfortunately, it’s very hard to go back to the Pinball HD franchise. I think of all the Pinball HD tables I like the Slayer one the best.

The ”The Pinball” version they did where you play the tables on your Mac and your control it with the iPod ”Pinball Control” was also very enjoyable. Unfortunately, I’m pretty sure it was Mac only and that they’ve dropped development for it.
