Worth noting: anyone with a developer account can download an up to date compiled project of this and install t. Since it costs $100 a year to be a developer that’s sort of a pricy option, but it exists.

iPad owners: someone snuck a version of MAME into the app store. There is no way this will last so get it while it’s hot. Note that you’ll have to use a third party utility to actually load ROMs into the thing. Also, the ROMsets you want are for 0.37b5, not the new hotness.

iPad version of Katamari Damacy is at least in HD. If you’ve ever played it on anything, you’ve played it on iPad 2, albeit probably with superior controls. It’s pretty much the same game – if you like it, it’s worth the $4. If you didn’t…

So…who has played the new Rally X game? Is the control really as bad as all that?

Playing Shadow Era. Fermium card game similar to MTG. Simple system with some good strategic depth, but it is really, really slow to earn cards for free.
-
IPad only MTG style game called shadow realm is a worthwhile download. You get one deck for free, and can buy decks or boosters with real money or individual cards with in game currency.

Now a proud owner of an iPad – purchased primarily to have easy online access when I go on vacation in a couple months but what good is a digital toy that doesn’t play games? I am twopiearr in game center. What should I have?
-
Ah – but the simple solution to that is to not install the all cards unlock extra!

There is a fairly interactive demo available. Based on the demo I found the intro puzzle a cake walk, and the ”meat of the game” puzzle, which I understand is the final puzzle for Day 1, to be frustrating but beatable. I am not especially good at puzzle games either.

Saint’s Row 1, that I know of, only exists on (pre-360) X-Box, which may or may not make it playable for you. 2 does a good enough job of recapping the crucial story elements that it isn’t necessary to play to still enjoy SR 2.
In reply to - Noel Malenosky posted an update: I tried picking up GTA IV again. When playing this game the only thing I am thinking is when is Saints Row 3 coming out and why am I not playing SR2 instead. · View -

Don’t ask me why, but Burnout Paradise, the all-cars unlock DLC, and the Boost Cards DLC can all be yours for the low low cost of two lattes at Starbucks ($8). Note that if you get the game from the Games tab rather than from the Bundles tab it will cost $20 and come with no DLC. Why this is so I don’t know, but take advantage!

The whole point of GT5, to my mind, has always been to achieve as much simulation as possible, so I would get a wheel if you are serious about GT5 per se. Any other racer is fine with a thumbstick, and some are better (I’m looking at you Blur and Mod Nation)
In reply to - Noel Malenosky posted an update: I have always wondered this. To play Gran Turismo or the other driving sim racing kind of games should I plonk down $99.99 for a driving wheel to enjoy them more? Or are these game just as enjoyable with just a regular PS3 controller? · View -
I think I don’t care:
10 years ago I was chatting with a teenager who was part of an online RPG I was involved with. He mentioned that he had never heard of Pac-Man. When I described the game to him, he suddenly said ”oh THAT thing. Yeah, I saw my dad playing that in emulation on his computer. Looked kind of…primitive.”
I died a little inside.

It could be worse, however. They could be calling Halo a classic game. That [...] · View - Load More
