We Talk Nintendo DS!

Public Group active 1 year, 10 months ago

In this group, people may talk about some of the fantastic games available for the Nintendo DS or, of course, deny the value of this pocket-sized system.

Photo Dojo is fantastic and it’s free. Come on, get it!

I totally agree! Get it while it’s still free. My family had ball creating our characters.

Am I the only person that hasn’t picked up their DS in months? Even Pokémon Silver & Gold haven’t been able to keep me playing much. I haven’t touched them since the first week they were out.

im right there with you dude… got the Zelda game for it about a month ago, played for a week, and then havent touched it again. Sad really…. :\

Game & Watch and Pinball Pulse: The Ancients Beckon, all 3 minute games, nothing heavy. I’m with you on the Zelda and I love trains, it’s just too much of a time investment, my legs would fall asleep.

I haven’t played anything on ds since homies rollers.

My DS is kind of picked up every now and then. When i got the last Zelda title I played it to death for a month nearly but once I finished the game I retired the DS for a little while. I’m sure I’ll end up picking up the Miles Edgeworth game though and get stuck between two screens again soon.

@theeternal I don’t know if it’s your ”cup-of-tea,” but do you have any interest in ”WarioWare: D.I.Y.?” Since I picked it up, I can’t put my DS down.

last portable game-only system i even owned was a GBA…I’ve been eyeing the PSP now that it’s down below $200 but given that i carry an iPod, cell phone, and laptop basically everywhere I go, it’s hard to justify another device that only plays games.

picked mine up yesterday for the first time in ages, still haven’t finished Phantom Hour Glass yet, so want to get that done before picking anything new up.

What DSiWare games is everyone playing? I am currently stuck on Uno. I also recently purchased Mr. Driller: Drill Till You Drop, Army Defender and Bejeweled Twist

Every Game & Watch available. Ball and Judge are played most currently.

Confirmed, I do have an original ”Game & Watch: Judge.”

Great! I love my DSi XL. The larger screen is awesome. My kids are already trying to steal it from me.

I am currently hooked on the DSiWare version of Uno and I don’t know why!

I hope to talk about this in depth on an upcoming version of Portable Gaming!

”WarioWare D.I.Y.” may just push me to buy a DSi LX. My eyes need the rest. However, I’ll probably wait to see what Nintendo unveils at E3 before making the jump.

Almost forgot about D.I.Y. I looks really cool, but I haven’t committed myself to learn out to build the games yet. Whole lot of tutorials to go through first

Wiggly and I are calling his DS XL ’the paddle’. Just thought I’d throw that in.

    • Avatar Image

been really tempted by the XL, but reluctant to jump in due to the 3DS talk.

  • Derek Kelly posted an update in the group We Talk Nintendo DS!:   2 years ago · View

Can we talk DSi XL too? Or is that separate forum?

      YES! Let us talk that.

Nice! Have you tried Professor Layton? If you haven’t and you are a puzzle/riddle fan, I would highly recommend it!

oh yea! Professor Layton – Super fun game!!
Right now I’ve been playing a fun sudoku-like game called ’Picross’. But the game that I spent hours upon hours playing was Animal Crossing Wild World for the DS. I mean, I played that game for over a year straight!

I let my father borrow my DS. Not sure when I’m getting it back. I’ve been wanting to play the new Pokemon game for some reason.

My brother has been giving that game a lot of burn. It looks amazing! However the last hand-held Pokemon game I played was Blue.

I’ve never played a Pokemon game. I’d like to but I wouldn’t really know where to start.

    • Avatar Image

I’d probably start with this new game, each iteration in the franchise is just a new jump-off point for the next crop of kids.

I loved just to collect the cute Pokemon. That was my deal. I didn’t really enjoy battling to make them advance. Remember the TV show?

I haven’t played it since Red/Blue as well. I just had some strange urge to play Pokemon again. Maybe just for nostalgia. Back in the day everyone was playing it, then they stopped when the fad died. I’m surprised it’s still very popular. I remember the show as well. I even saw the first movie. I hated it since Ash didn’t die. And it was called ”Mewtwo’s Return” when he never made a first appearance to begin with.

So, what inspired me to create this group is, really, Professor Layton. Though there are many other DS games that I love, the Layton series got me hooked on the DS. Are there any Layton supporters out there?

Only Melvins and Squares dislike ”Prof. Layton.”
